Cleaning Your Gemstones

· Selenite The easiest way! It cleans all crystals and gems. Place your stones/crystals next to selenite when not in use. It absorbs all negative energy and promotes joy happiness, and brings in the light.

· Outside method: Place in sunlight, moonlight or rain for up to a day. Placing the stone on or near a plant often speeds up the process. Do not to clean stones like aventurine, rose quartz, amethyst, florite, citrine, lapis, malachite, kunzite, selenite and sodalite. They will deteriorate faster and left in water turn pale or change their color.

Crystal method: If the stone is small simply place it on top of a quartz or amethyst cluster. If you’re going to use a cluster to do your cleansing then the cluster should be dedicated for this purpose. Clean your cluster every month or so in rain or sunlight.

· Smudge method: Pass stones through the smoke of a scented incense such as sweetgrass, frankincense or sage.

· Sea salt method: use 1 cup of sea salt to 2 cups natural spring water. Place stones in the salt, and let them soak for the better part of the day. If the day is sunny, let them dry in the sunshine for a few hours, or if you have lunar stones, lay in the moonlight on a windowsill through the night. BEWARE: polish may be removed using this method.
